Featuring Daniel Kim on trumpet, Gary Taylor on guitar, Gil Kafka on bass, and Richard Knight on drums, this seasoned group has been delighting audiences for years with their unique blend of jazz standards and jazz-infused takes on popular songs. Daniel Kim, a skilled and sought-after trumpeter, balances his life as a dedicated local dentist with his passion for music—his trumpet is never far from his side, even at the clinic. His tone is rich, expressive, and full of character. Gary Taylor, a retired Realtor, weaves unmistakable blues into his solos, adding soulful depth to the group's jazz palette. His improvisations are both tasteful and electrifying. Gil Kafka, a high school music teacher, also a talented guitarist, brings a melodic and lyrical approach to the bass, often making it sing with emotion and groove. His musicality forms the heartbeat of the ensemble. Richard Knight, retired educator, anchors the band with dynamic and sensitive drumming. Equally at home in jazz, blues, rock and roll, and big band settings, he brings energy and versatility to every performance.
