Job Title - Line Cook

Reports to: Executive Chef

Compensation: $19-$22 per hour plus participation in tip pool

This role is responsible for executing high-quality dishes with consistency, precision, and speed, contributing to a refined food program that reflects the quality of our estate wines. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute menu items to Peak Cellars standards, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and portioning
  • Independently run an assigned station during service with direction and support from senior chefs
  • Complete daily mise en place with precision and efficiency, ensuring full readiness for service
  • Follow prep lists and direction from Chef team, managing time effectively to meet operational demands
  • Execute service with urgency and focus, maintaining composure and attention to detail during high-volume periods
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation throughout service
  • Adhere strictly to recipes, plating standards, and kitchen systems
  • Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met, including proper labeling, dating, and storage
  • Assist in core prep functions including vegetable preparation, basic butchery, sauce work, and garnishes
  • Support receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring product quality and proper stock rotation (FIFO)
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members to ensure smooth, coordinated service
  • Assist other stations and team members as needed to support overall kitchen performance
  • Monitor product levels and communicate shortages or quality issues proactively
  • Minimize waste through proper handling, storage, and utilization of ingredients
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, skill development, and progression within the kitchen

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen
  • Solid understanding of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work independently within a structured team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
